Leeds vs Chelsea Preview: 11 May, 20:30

Leeds will be trying to escape the relegation zone tomorrow evening as the host Chelsea at the Elland Road.

Leeds

Leeds find themselves in the drop zone following a season they will certainly look to forget, but with 3 games to go they can still turn their fate around. Jesse Marsch`s side could not have had a harder run of games when facing a relegation battle consecutively taking on Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Last week at Arsenal, Eddie Nketiah tore the Leeds` defence to bits scoring 2 goals within the first 10 minutes of the game. The Arsenal loss marked their 4th consecutive Premier League loss following an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Manchester City. Additionally, they have now gone 10 games without a clean sheet at Elland Road and that is unlikely to change on Wednesday evening. However, looking at Chelsea`s recent form, the Leeds outfit might still have a glimpse of hope to take at least a point at home.

Chelsea

Chelsea has had an unexpectedly poor turn in form over the past few games. Tuchel`s side has won just 1 of their last 5 Premier League games and their once comfortable spot in the 2022/2023 Champions League has come under a potential threat – with Arsenal cutting the gap to 3rd place to just 1 point. Similarly to Leeds, Chelsea`s backline has had an unimpressive run of performances, conceding in 4 of the previously mentioned 5 Premier League games. Nevertheless, the players will certainly know the importance of pulling off the right result if they are to give Liverpool a run for their money in this weekend`s FA Cup Final. Romelu Lukaku will be the man to watch on Wednesday night, as the Belgian striker bagged himself a brace against Wolves. Even though London`s Blues have had a dismal run of results, they are still more than capable of finding the back of the opponents net and are likely to put on a contrasting performance in preparation to the crucial FA Cup Final.

Verdict

Leeds` stay in the Premier League has come under immense pressure due to their unorganized defence and it is unlikely that they will keep Chelsea at bay. Although the Blues themselves have not put their backline in order and are most likely to concede on the day, their attacking arsenal is capable of giving them the edge to secure the crucial 3 points.
