In a behemoth World Cup Final clash, Lionel Scaloni`s Argentina faces the defending Champions of the World – Didier Deschamps` France.
Argentina showed unequivocal class against a Croatian side that many backed to be a challenge for the South Americans. From the kick-off, it was clear which team was in full focus and which one was still in the dressing room. It would not of been a semi-final without a goal from Lionel Messi, who opened the scoring from the penalty spot, followed by a brilliant solo run from Julian Alvarez. The match was then completely ripped out of Croatia`s hands with yet another strike from Julian Alvarez. The Argentine outfit displayed a breath-taking attacking display and we would back non-other than Lionel Messi to bag at least one goal on the afternoon.

Although a story of the Moroccan underdogs would been painted beautifully, the defending Champions had other ideas. Although they were not the dominant side on the night, France were successful in absorbing the Moroccan attack and capitalized on the blitz of their counter-attack, catching the African side out twice. Prior to the game against France, Morocco conceded just 1 goal in the World Cup, highlighting the French overwhelming attacking prowess. Considering their capability upfront, we think we will see a high-scoring game on Sunday afternoon.
Verdict
This final could not have been written any better – one last dance for Lionel Messi, while on the other hand France are in a position to write history with 2 consecutive World Cups in a row. Overall, both sides have an unplayable squad, and we will certainly have an action-packed affair. However, the French sides seem to have a slight edge over their opponents, playing exceptionally as the defending Champions and may just re-write history on Sunday.
