Weekend Premier League Preview!
Weekend Premier League Preview!

The Premier League is back with some eye-catching fixtures this weekend and we have picked out top games, as well as the best markets.

Manchester City vs Newcastle United

Manchester City will resume their title race and attempt to close down the 5-point gap with Arsenal. They go into the fixture on the back of a 3-0 victory against Bristol City in the FA Cup, securing their spot in the quarterfinals. The Citizens have been in blistering form in the last 2 games, having scored 7 goals and conceding just 1 – giving us a hint of what`s to come on Saturday. Considering that they`ve beaten Newcastle in 4 of their last 5 meetings, we expect them to deliver on the day.

Newcastle will now shift their focus to re-capturing a Top 4 spot after missing out on the Carabao Cup trophy. Although sitting in 5th with 4 points separating them from 4th, the Magpies have a 2-game in-hand advantage on Spurs. However, their current form does them no favours as they`ve failed to record a win in their last 4 competitive fixtures. We`ve had over 2.5 goals in 4 of the last 5 times these sides have met and in addition to their current forms, we expect Manchester City to win, and over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea vs Leeds

Things are looking grim for Chelsea as they still sit 10th on the Premier League table. They`ve now gone 6 games without a win, consisting of a recent 3-game losing streak in all competitive bouts. They also go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham. Graham Potter will certainly be under pressure and a win at Stamford Bridge will be a must on Saturday, but Leeds is capable of being a headache on the day.

Leeds United is currently sitting just 1 point above the relegation zone with just 1 win in their last 5 Premier League games. Although a win against Southampton sparked hope within the squad, they went on to drop their standards yet against with a 2-0 defeat to Fulham in the FA Cup. However, to their advantage, Leeds has already beaten Chelsea 3-0 at Elland Road this season.  Still, both sides have drastically underdelivered this season and neither spring with confidence as a winner, hence we are leaning towards a draw, and considering both sides’ low-scoring results as of late – under 2.5 goals.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Liverpool has continued its Premier League recovery after a 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton and now finds itself just 6 points out of the Top 4. Although the Reds have been a mixed bag this season, they have now gone 4 games in the Premier League without a defeat – giving them confidence heading into the clash against United. However, the Red Devils have already beaten them 2-1 this season and in their current form will be a serious challenge.

Manchester United took no time to celebrate winning the Carabao Cup as they followed the performance up with a 2-0 victory over West Ham in the FA Cup. The Red Devils are now playing unbeaten in their last 11 competitive fixtures and have been more than convincing in most of these performances. They now have a chance to continue chasing Arsenal and close the gap down to 8 points, but a trip to Anfield is always a challenge and United has failed to record a win in Liverpool in their last 7 trips. Still, considering ten Hag`s relentless outfit, we expect Manchester United to edge past Liverpool in a tight game with over 2.5 goals.
